A midstream company
was having consistent bearing failures in gas turbines and needed a dependable supplier who could provide a lubrication oil flush – a service recommended by the Breaux Energy Services technical team. As part of the challenge, the company had to also buy electricity from a power company when the turbines were not in use, costing them potentially $200,000 per month including turbine repairs.

Solution
With the help of BES, the company implemented the recommended High Velocity Oil Flush (HVOF). In doing so, the company managed to save upwards of nearly $200,000 per month in total costs. The completed project was successful and resulted in BES being asked to perform the same project scope on two additional turbine systems.

In addition to services like the HVOF provided, BES also recommended implementing a consistent oil sampling program. A program of this nature is designed to catch potential issues before they create unnecessary, costly repairs.

The flush resulted in nearly $200,000 in monthly savings and increased reliability, prompting the company to expand the partnership with BES to servicing additional turbine systems and implementing a consistent oil sampling service.
After the positive outcome of the flush, the customer also decided to switch its lubricant inventory to Shell through BES affiliate company, Breaux Petroleum Products.
