5 Days
Result
Successful completion of HVOF meeting ISO 4406 standards

Sector:

Oil & Gas

Location:

Mississippi

Service:

High Velocity Oil Flush
The
Challenge
Two gas turbines
required a comprehensive oil flush to remove contamination and meet stringent cleanliness standards. This included flushing the interconnect piping, demister piping, and coolers for each unit. The challenge was not only to ensure the systems were thoroughly cleaned to specification, but also to complete the project within the quoted timeframe and with minimal disruption to operations.
The
Solution
BES executed a systematic HVOF process that began with installing baseline screens to capture existing contamination. Each phase of the flushing process was performed and measured against ES-2184 rev. H standards. The BES team continued flushing each system until the required cleanliness levels were achieved. To verify results, a final oil analysis was conducted, targeting ISO 4406 standards of 16/14/11 or lower.
The
Result
BES successfully completed the project within the quoted five-day timeframe. The oil systems for both units achieved the required ISO 4406 cleanliness standard, ensuring reliable lubrication and system performance. The process removed significant contamination, as shown by the baseline and final screen captures, and delivered measurable improvements in oil quality. The successful flush provided the company with confidence in the long-term reliability of their critical equipment.
Post-maintenance analysis confirmed that the flush and cleanout achieved target cleanliness and water content levels, ensuring optimal lubrication system performance at startup.
